How to Register TrainTrack

You have thirty days before the trial period ends and TrainTrack needs to be registered. After thirty days, you will be limited in the amount of data you can view and work with. (If you have a large data file, you will not lose any of the data even though you can't see all of it).

In order to register TrainTrack, you need to send the following information to TrainTrack@ElectronicMusicStudio.com.

  Program ID Number
  Program Serial Number
  Your E-mail Address
  Your Name
  Your City
  Your State/Province
  Your Country

This information will not be used for any purpose other than registering TrainTrack.

TrainTrack can do most of the work for you by following the steps below.

Step 1: Program ID and Your Name

When you first run TrainTrack, the following Welcome Screen appears.

Click Postpone if you would rather register later. The Program ID Number is located on the CD label. Include the entire number, starting with "TT". When done, click "Next".

Step 2: Your e-mail Address

Enter your e-mail address. The program key will be sent to this address within about one week. If you don't have an e-mail address, then finish reading this topic so you know how the basic registration process works, then see How to Register TrainTrack By US Mail.

Your e-mail address will be used only to send you the program key. If you leave the check mark in the box above (recommended), you will also receive information about program bug fixes and updates. Under normal circumstances, this should mean less than half a dozen messages per year. You can request removal from the mailing list at any time and all requests will be honored. Your e-mail address will not be used for any other purpose, nor will it be shared with anyone else.

Again, you can click "Postpone" if you want to finish the registration process later.

Step 3: Your Location

The information requested above will be used for statistical purposes only.

Step 4: Check Your Data

At this point, you should double check that the information entered is correct because it will affect the program key generation process. Once you click "Next" on the screen below, you will not be able to easily make changes in the data.

Step 5: Send the Data

The screen below shows you the TrainTrack Serial Number and the address where the information will be sent.

Clicking "Send" should automatically create a message with the required data and open your e-mail program so you can review the message before sending it. If this triggers your virus detector software, see Virus Detectors below.

WARNING: Do not make any changes in the data in the message because changes can adversely affect the program key generation process and the key you get might not work. If you discover a mistake you need to fix, uninstall TrainTrack, then re-install it. This will allow you to go through the registration screens again so you can input the correct information. If you have created data files, move them somewhere else temporarily so they aren't erased accidentally.

If you click "Postpone", the screen above will show up evey time you start TrainTrack. If you put a check mark in the "Don't show this again at startup" check box, this screen won't show again. Use this if you are sending your registration by US Mail. If you need to access this screen after checking the box, go to Help | Register TrainTrack on the Main Menu.

Virus Detectors

Some virus detector settings may treat the automatic attempt to open your e-mail program as malicious activity when you click "Send". Virus detectors are all different, so specific instructions cannot be given. Basically, do whatever is needed for the virus detector to allow the action. If all else fails, temporarily disable your virus detector software until after the e-mail message is sent.

Step 6: Finish

Once you have sent the e-mail message, you can click "Done" to finish the process.
